A New Specialty License Plate to Support the Heart of Beaufort
Beaufort Business Association and Local Artist Unite for a Beautiful Cause
Beaufort, NC – The Beaufort Business Association (BBA) is excited to announce a new initiative to support the town’s vibrant community and its rich artistic heritage. In partnership with local artist Heather Sink, the BBA is launching a specialty license plate featuring Sink’s captivating painting of the Beaufort waterfront.
A Plate with a Purpose
For a cost of $30 per year, in addition to standard registration fees, vehicle owners can adorn their license plates with this stunning artwork. A portion of the proceeds, specifically $20 per plate, will be allocated to pay for the many activities that BBA is responsible for:
- Achieve our new mission of obtaining and then maintaining Beaufort’s Main Street USA status.
- Rock the Dock Music Series
- Independence Day Parade and Fireworks
- Christmas Parade and Santa’s Workshop
- Buccaneers New Years Eve and Pirate Drop
- Mardi Gras Carnival Weekend
The remaining $10 will be used by the North Carolina DMV for highway beautification projects.
Personalize Your Plate
For an additional $30 per year, drivers can personalize their license plate with up to four characters. This unique opportunity allows individuals to add a personal touch to their vehicle while supporting a worthy cause.

About the Artist: Heather Sink
Heather Sink, a talented British artist, found her home in the charming town of Beaufort. After years of teaching art and raising a family, she dedicated herself to her own artistic pursuits. Inspired by the coastal beauty of Beaufort, Sink’s work captures the essence of the area’s stunning landscapes and serene atmosphere.
Her passion for art extends beyond her own creations. Sink founded Craving Art Studio, a space where she shares her love of art with others through teaching and collaboration.
