Beaufort’s Annual July 4th Celebration

July 4th Parade - Events in Beaufort, NC

Making plans for July 4th holiday week? There’s no better place to celebrate our nation’s birthday than Beaufort, North Carolina, named ‘America’s Favorite Town’ by Travel + Leisure. From the small-town atmosphere to the July 4th parade and the spectacular fireworks display, it has become a not-to-miss event.

The parade always draws some of the most creative minds in town, including Beaufort’s very own Sweet Potato Queens decked out in their crazy costumes. The parade begins at 11 am on Front Street in downtown Beaufort.

The Grand Marshalls this year are Jeanette Holland and Micha Shepard from the Holland Shepard Group. For several years, the Holland Shepard Group has distributed free ice cream following the parade at the Carteret County Courthouse. That tradition continues in 2023.

“We are thrilled to once again co-sponsor this event with the Town of Beaufort,” states Nelson Owens, president of the Beaufort Business Association.

Interested in joining the parade? Organizations and businesses are invited to participate. Those people interested, please contact Martha Barnes at 252-728-3917 to register.

The annual Fireworks Display takes place at Gallants Channel at 9 pm. Visitors can park at Gallants Channel for $10 per car. The grounds will open at 6 pm.

Fireworks

Fireworks will be set off from the direction of Gallant’s Channel. They can be seen from multiple viewing locations throughout town.

The Beaufort Business Association pays the total cost of more than $15,000 for the fireworks display. No funding comes from the Town of Beaufort. Any size donation is really appreciated.
