SIGNATURE EVENT: The first weekend in December each year brings a celebration of waterfowl heritage to the Core Sound Museum and Heritage Center on Harkers Island.
This celebration brings carvers, crafters and artists together to showcase their work during the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum weekend. Patrons of this time honored and cherished event can enjoy unique events, great food, entertainment, and a fellowship service on Sunday morning.
Saturday, December 7th, 2024, 9 am – 5 pm

1:00pm – Head Carving Contest
1:00pm – Retriever Demonstration
3:00pm – Youth Prize Drawing (ages 6-17)
3:30pm – Awards Presentation, announce 2024 Featured Carver/bird, and raffle drawing winners for the Shotgun, Decoy, and Print.
Admission is $8 daily, and children under 12 free. Sunday is Youth Day with all children under 18 free.
The show takes place at the Harkers Island Elementary School, 1163 Island Road, Harkers Island.
