Description
Located on Taylor’s Creek, this park overlooks the Rachel Carson Reserve. There is a bulkhead, an elevated dock, a floating dinghy dock and a gazebo. This is the primary dinghy dock access to Town for boats anchored in Taylor’s Creek. There is a walk-in boat launching area. There are picnic tables at the adjacent Lynn Eury Park, a bike rack, and access to the Cape Lookout National Seashore Welcome Center with air-conditioned public restroom facilities.
The kayak storage rack is only available with an permit assigned annually via a small vessel lottery. There is free day storage available for kayaks and canoes on the sandy beach area. Paddlers can leave their vessel in the day storage and enjoy the downtown area.
Grayden Paul Park is located on Front Street directly across from the Town Hall and the Cape Lookout National Seashore Welcome Center at the end of Pollock Street.
The park is named in honor of the late Grayden Muir Paul who died in 1994. He was a former “town historian,” Mayor of Beaufort, and served on the school board.
